Philosophy

We support the belief that children gain an understanding of the world around them through concrete experiences. We provide programs that are encouraging, safe, warm and routine. They assist children to develop their potential in the intellectual, physical, social and emotional aspects of their lives.

O
ur curriculum is based on the belief that it is through play that children develop cognitive, physical, creative, emotional and social skills. This gives all children the freedom to interact with the people and the environment around them, leading to a positive self-image and autonomy. All children are individuals and develop at different rates. Each child is encouraged to reach full potential through a range of experiences that are planned to meet individual needs.

W
e feel that parents, staff and the community play an important role in guiding the care, growth and development of children. We value each other’s experiences in working with young children and we aim to support staff, parents and the community in learning and growing together.

Staff are respected and appreciated through the positive growth experiences and fair and equitable work practices and policies we provide.

We respect all families’ decisions in matters concerning their child (or children), and ensure tasteful and confidential treatment of all personal issues concerning families. A sense of belonging is promoted through shared decision making and commitment to open communication.

W
e aim to provide and foster a diverse and caring environment which helps to develop and support the values and attitudes of families through a mutual understanding of religion, culture and background. We aim to promote access and equity for all families, children and staff from diverse backgrounds, including language.

We also aim to maximize the opportunities for all children in the local community to attend a quality preschool, by minimizing the impact of economic disadvantage and physical or intellectual differences.

W
e aim to consistently provide a safe and hygienic environment for all concerned, with clear expectations for staff, parents and children. This provides a safe, fun and healthy climate for the families, children and staff who play and learn in it.

W
e aim to promote the well-being of all the staff, by

* Creating a supportive and fulfilling workplace

* Encouraging physical and emotional health

* Avoiding undue risks in the workplace

* Promoting personal development

* Recognising the importance of family and life outside work, and

* encouraging staff to retain a perspective where all aspects of their lives are valued.
